CHAD MAGENDANZ ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN FOR STATE SENATE, 5TH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT

ISSAQUAH, WA – Former State Representative and Issaquah School Board President Chad Magendanz today officially announced his candidacy for the State Senate in Washington’s 5th Legislative District, answering the call to return balance, accountability, and fiscal discipline to Olympia.

Magendanz, a respected leader in education, former nuclear submarine officer, and longtime advocate for responsible government, previously served two terms in the Washington State House of Representatives, representing the voters of the 5th Legislative District. While serving, Magendanz earned bipartisan recognition for his work on education reform, technology advancement, and budget transparency.

“Our communities are struggling with rising costs, a failing education system, and a Legislature that seems more interested in partisan agendas than practical solutions,” said Magendanz. “We need leadership focused on outcomes, not ideology. I’m running to restore balance in Olympia and bring thoughtful, disciplined policymaking back to the Senate.”

Magendanz’s announcement comes as newly elected Representative Victoria Hunt, who just voted for the largest tax increase in state history, makes her own bid for the seat in this year’s special election. The contrast, Magendanz says, couldn’t be clearer.

“While my opponent has supported billions in new, unnecessary, and regressive taxes, I’ve consistently championed policies that respect taxpayers and put families first,” he said. “This election is our opportunity to correct course.”
